Auckland

Long known as the City of Sails, Auckland is the gateway to 100 percent pure New Zealand. Rotorua

Rotorua, a town set on its namesake lake on New Zealand's North Island, is renowned for its geothermal activity and Maori culture. In Te Puia’s Whakarewarewa Valley, there are bubbling mud pools and the 30m-tall Pohutu Geyser, which erupts daily. Queenstown

One of the most popular tourist destinations in New Zealand, and for good reason, Queenstown couldn’t be in a better location. Surrounded by sweeping mountains alongside a gorgeous blue lake, Queenstown looks like a postcard from every angle. Christchurch

Christchurch is known as Garden City, a well-deserved name. Looking from a few floors up, one is struck by the number of trees that grow like a forest throughout the suburbs.

The central business district is undergoing a major rebuild after the earthquakes. All areas are now accessible and the city remains a major gateway to the rest of the South Island.
